Dos Palmeras is a beautiful villa in a perfect location for a great family holiday. It has four double bedrooms and five bathrooms, three of which are ensuite. There is a heated pool, beautiful gardens and stunning views. The owners have taken great care to furnish and decorate this property to a very high standard, to include every home comfort.

Ground Floor

Downstairs it has an open-plan arrangement with the sitting room, dining room and kitchen all linked. The kitchen is very well equipped with everything you need to self cater and has a washing machine and dryer, fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher etc. The sitting room has had a recent make-over with new sofas and armchairs. All the furniture and accesories are a very high quality and create a real home from home. This is not your average holiday rental property! The lounge has a tv with satellite channels, a dvd player and cd player. There is part air conditioning and central heating. For winter rentals there is a log fire too.

The double doors open up on to the pool and front terrace.

Down the corridor there are three double bedrooms, one en-suite, two have double doors that open on to the pool. All the beds are very comfortable and very good quality with beautiful bed linen and towels provided.

First Floor

Upstairs there is a new bedroom and bathroom known as the Indian Suite. This has stunning views across the harbour and the Fort.

Outside there are well stocked gardens and two beautiful palms that support a double hammock. This is a wonderful cool place to chill during hot summer days! At the back of the villa there is another terrace which really does trap the sun. It’s quiet, not overlooked and ideal for sun bathing. The gardens are surrounded by hedges to give privacy. The gardens are watered twice a day automatically. The pool is cleaned twice a week.

Dos Palmeras is on one of the finest urbanisations on the island, Cala Llonga. The property has it’s own gardeners who keep the area clean and tidy. It is situated only 10 minutes drive from the capital Mahon and 5 minutes from Mesquida, one of the finest beaches in the area. Cala Llonga is on the opposite side of the harbour and had has stunning views of Mahon. Mahon harbour is the second largest natural port after Pearl Harbour and was a favourite staging point for Nelson’s fleet.

Menorca is a registered biosphere and as such developers are limited as to what they can build. Near the villa there is a natural park that attracts a diverse range of birds and wildlife. Menorca has more sandy beaches than any of the Balearic islands and is ideal for families.

The night life is also good and Mahon is buzzing during the evenings. The island was occupied by British for around 100 years and occasionally by the French. The architecture of these two great powers is noticeable on the island. For example the town of San Lluis was built by the French whereas Mahon has a colonial fel.

The harbour of Mahon is supposedly the second biggest natural harbour in the world. This did not escape Nelson’s eye and he based the Mediterranean fleet there for many years. There is so much to do in Menorca both on water and on land. It’s a paradise to be enjoyed.

The Mahon / Cala Llonga – Menorca area

Cala Llonga, otherwise known as ‘the place where millionaires live’, is an exclusive urbanisation on the far side of the port opposite Mahon. There is a supermarket which stocks almost everything you could want. You can walk there but driving is better if you are loading up on the week’s shop. About a kilometre away is the fort of La Mola.

This was originally built by the British to protect the island from attack. For a short time it was occupied by the French until the British took it back again. You have to take time out to visit it as there is so much history to be enjoyed. A recent episode of Hornblower was shot there.

Cala Llonga has its own harbour filled with expensive sea-going yachts.
