This lovely self catering holiday cottage is located in the picturesque village of Giggleswick in the Yorkshire Dales. The owners have decorated the cottage to an extremely high standard in a comfortable, contemporary style.

Interior

The cottage is decorated in a modern, contemporary style and includes designer furniture, cushions and throwovers, and unique artwork on the walls. Downstairs, the living room and kitchen diner are equipped with plasma TVs and state of the art sound surround (just bring your iPod)! There is also a wood burning stove for extra comfort. The kitchen is fabulous and fitted with all mod cons and warmed by underfloor heating. Appliances include washing machine, microwave, freezer, oven, grill, dishwasher, fridge, toaster, hob and tumble dryer. There is also a ground floor wc.
Upstairs, the accommodation comprises three bedrooms, one kingsize with ensuite and 2 single bedrooms with family bathroom.

Outside

Outside the cottage is a courtyard garden with ample seating and firepit/barbeque. There is off street parking for two cars and access to the beck.

Red Door Cottage is situated in the picturesque village of Giggleswick, near Settle. There are walks galore from the doorstep and local pubs servicing good food and a small shop/cafe are all in the village. Giggleswick provides an excellent base for exploring the Yorkshire Dales, whether by foot, car or bike.
The Yorkshire Dales is an area of great natural beauty in northern England, a large part of which has been designated as a national park. The Yorkshire Dales National Park offers spectacular scenery whether walking, cycling, caving, climbing or just visiting any number of beautiful villages.
Needless to say, there are lots of things to do in the Yorkshire Dales – including walking and rambling, cycling and mountain biking, rock climbing and caving and even paragliding. Britain’s most famous long distance footpath, the Pennine Way passes through the Yorkshire Dales, as does the Dales Way footpath, Wainwright’s popular Coast to Coast Walk, and the world famous Settle – Carlisle railway line – one of Britain’s most spectacular train journeys. Regular events are held throughout the year including beer festivals and stream dipping.
Giggleswick is separated from the small bustling market town of Settle by the river Ribble. The Ribble Way is a 70 mile footpath following the river and its valley from the sea to its source. The Ribble Valley has an interesting history with evidence of Roman roads and ancient abbeys.
The pretty market square of Settle has everything you may need: plenty of good pubs and restaurants, and many delightful independent shops. There is also a small indoor swimming pool, a theatre and a supermarket. The famous Settle to Carlisle line takes you further afield into the Dales and from Giggleswick you can catch a train to the nostalgic seaside town of Morecambe. The town of Settle is full of fascinating buildings, narrow alleyways and hidden courtyards that give the place a special atmosphere. Most buildings date from the 18th and 19th centuries.
Settle is at its most liveliest and colourful on Tuesdays, when the weekly market takes place attracting traders from far and wide. Bikes can be hired from the town and a quiet network of lanes offer great opportunities to cycle away from traffic.

The Yorkshire Dales play host to a number of regular outdoor and indoor markets which take place in many of the areas towns. Here you will find the very best of local foods, produce and ingredients – a mouth-watering and bountiful array of produce that will give you a very special Taste of North Yorkshire.
